Hey Everyone, we've been bouncing this around for a while now, but time is marching on, and it seems that there's a real appetite for doing a landmark event, possibly as the culmination of the ETM programme...

Two Big Questions:

How art and artists impacts on people’s lives

How audiences influence the way artists work, and the things that they create

An event that brings Europe’s cultural minds to bear on the matter of Audience Engagement.

What drives Artists? What drives Audiences? We aim for the point of intersection, the Big Meeting place for shared creativity.  And what that means in practical terms for producers, presenters and organisations engaged with delivering arts and culture to people...

More information in the attached file to think about.

Can we? Should we?

Applause from Copenhagen. This is good thinking!

And PS:  "The Big Meeting of Minds" is not a bad conference title

I like the sound of it!

Two suggestions:

1) We need to create momentum for something like this. Is there an important event, celebration, international "year of creativity", international exposition, publication, ... the "Big Meeting" could tie in with?

2) International partnership is key for something like this. Maybe we should talk to the directors of the European "Culture" program and try to convince them that in the next stage of the program (2013 and beyond) it is absolutely important to create more space within their portfolio for audience development matters. For the time being, audience development is a blind spot in the EU Culture programme ...

Hi Rich,

as I said - a great idea and Berlin could be a place to hold this meeting.
